  • Hawaii: Major disaster (FEMA-4909-DR) declared on April 7, 2026, due to severe storms, flooding, and mudslides.
  • Washington State: Severe storms, flooding, and landslides led to tax relief and FEMA involvement.
  • Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Montana: Received federal tax deadline relief from the IRS disaster relief page.
  • Regional Focus: The USDA designated 107 counties across LA, MS, MO, OK, TN, and TX as natural disaster areas due to 2026 winter weather.
• Federal Funding: FEMA.gov announced over $137 million for various recovery projects, while OPB reports indicate specific focus on states like Oregon and Washington for infrastructure repairs.
• Excluded States: Some reports indicate that states, including California, Illinois, Minnesota, and Colorado, were initially excluded from certain federal funding rounds.
